RED MISSION BOXES: Many of you have the Red APF Mission Boxes in your homes, and you can have them emptied now by bringing them to church and leaving them in the sacristy (not the church porch please). They will be emptied and returned to you for the following weekend. Thanks to Pat Lucas for her work with this – and if you would like to have a mission box, please speak with her or get in touch with Fr Peter.


PUDSEY COMMUNITY PROJECT: are appealing for food and toiletries for people in need in our area. We can collect donations here at St Joseph’s – so please leave any in the church porch and we will transfer them each week. For more info: www.pudseycommunity.org.uk


SVP SOCIAL: Our St Vincent de Paul Society are organising a social to the Wetherby Whaler on Friday 7th June at 12.30pm. Due to the funds we raised at the recent beetle drive, we are in the position to provide a free meal to anyone that would benefit from the company. There is a list in the porch to register your interest so that we can get an idea for numbers. Should you require a lift, this will be arranged nearer the time.


CAFOD SUDAN CRISIS APPEAL: The war in Sudan has forced millions of people to flee their homes, creating one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. The situation is quickly getting worse, and people caught up in the middle of the conflict are now facing yet another crisis – hunger. People are running out of food, water and medicine and many families continue to risk their lives fleeing their homes to escape the fighting. Please donate to help meet these urgent, basic needs.   • BAMBISANANI GIFT COLLECTION: Mr Farmer from our school is heading off to South Africa in June and, as last year, he is appealing for gifts which he can take with him for the orphanage. This year there are three areas he is collecting for:Books for the reading festival. Primary school children at the reading festival are given a book to keep. For some children this is the first book they have ever been given.

    Simple gifts for the orphanage, such as gliders, bubbles, small balls for children up to the age of 5.

    Sensory gifts for children at the special needs school, such as bubbles, stress balls, light toys, whistles.

    You can leave any donations in the church porch, but please put them in plastic bags and mark them “Bambisanani” so that we don’t get them mixed up with the Pudsey Community Project collections.

The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal will be holding monthly Discipleship Days at St Patrick’s Church, Bradford BD1 2RU, including Rosary, Holy Mass, Confessions, and Eucharistic adoration along with talks on Franciscan spirituality. 2024 marks 800 years since St Francis received the stigmata and the arrival of the first Franciscans in England. THE BRIERY RETREAT CENTRE, ILKLEY:

Briery Weekly Online Meditations: Each Thursday evening The Briery hosts a meditation via Zoom focusing on the Gospel for the upcoming Sunday and provide an opportunity for shared reflection in small groups. CENTENARY OF THE DEDICATION OF THE CATHEDRAL JULY 2024: On Thursday 18th July at 11.30am, together with the Priests, Deacons, Religious and Lay Faithful, Bishop Marcus will celebrate a Solemn Pontifical Mass at the Cathedral Church of St Anne, the Mother Church of the Diocese of Leeds, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Cathedral’s Dedication. More information about the Cathedral’s centenary celebrations will be published in due course.
