The Church is the body of Christ. It is the communion of the faithful in the life of its risen Lord.
Our religion is sacramental. Through the sacraments the Church expresses in the most effective possible way, God’s loving care for us as individuals and as a community.
The Sacraments of Initiation are baptism, confirmation and eucharist. For adults these sacraments are preceded ideally by several years preparation known as catechumenate.
At St Joseph's we also celebrate the sacraments of reconciliation, sometimes referred to as ‘confession’, anointing the sick, and marriage. Holy orders are generally celebrated at the Cathedral.
